This course is aimed at complete beginners and will look at the essentials of using a computer. You will learn how to save documents, change settings and set up accounts. The course will also cover basic e-safety information such as how to choose a virus guard and how to keep your data safe whilst online.

Learners who are over 19 years of age. This course is ideal for complete beginners.

How will the course be delivered?
This is a practical course and the sessions will include tutor-led demonstrations, learner-led group activities, instruction and repetition. These will form part of the delivery together with one-to-one support as required.

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
1. You will be expected to review your notes between lessons to ensure maximum benefit from your course. It is always useful to practise your skills between sessions. Your tutor may encourage home learning, or independent research.

How will I know I'm making progress?
At the beginning of each session, your tutor will share with you the objectives of the day, which will give you an opportunity to think about your individual aims for the session. At the end of the session, you will have time to share your experience and reflect on what you learned.

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a notepad, and pen to each session. You may wish to bring a file for any handouts. A laptop with internet access is required for completion of coursework and home learning outside of the classroom. Please note that food and drink are not permitted to be consumed in the classroom. You may bring a bottle of water with a lid with you if required.
