Description

This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's sectors. They include the roles played by workers, from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others.  

Who is this course for?
Learners who are over 19 years of age, who have been resident in the EU for a minimum of 3 years, and possess a keen interest in gaining employment in the health and social care sector, or the early years care and education sector.

Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements, this course is for complete beginners. People with a limited amount of knowledge on the subject may join this course to refresh their knowledge.

Course aims
Mandatory units include:- -Understand the range of service provision and roles within health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare Knowledge. -Understand the principles and values in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.

How will the course be delivered?
You will be working with your tutor and other students face to face.

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
You will be expected to review your notes between lessons to ensure maximum benefit from your course. It is always useful to practise your skills between sessions. Your tutor may encourage home learning, or independent research.

How will I know I'm making progress?
During the first session, your tutor will discuss your goals and current level in relation to the course. Based on this assessment, you will agree individual targets which you will record in your individual learning plan (ILP). You and your tutor will review your targets regularly to ensure that you are making progress; these will be written in your individual learning plan.

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a notepad, and pen to each session. You may wish to bring a file for any handouts. A laptop with internet access is required for completion of coursework and home learning outside of the classroom. Please note that food and drink are not permitted to be consumed in the classroom. You may bring a bottle of water with a lid with you if required.
