Who is this course for?
Learners will be unemployed and actively seeking work who wish to improve their employability prospects and develop their self esteem in applying for jobs, writing CVs, or interview techniques.

Course aims
This qualification is a short introduction for anyone preparing to enter the world of work, also suitable for those already working or volunteering and wish to further develop existing experience and skills. The aim of this qualification is to enhance skills required for the working environment and improve confidence and communication skills. You will learn about the following:- - How employability can be affected by your mindset - An understanding of motivation and the impact this can have on a work situation - How to prepare for your first few days at work and what to expect in an induction -Basic skills needed to be able to work in a team, recognising your own strengths and how you can contribute. You will complete four small units to achieve your qualification, which will be supported by your tutor during class.

How will the course be delivered?
This is a practical course and the sessions will include tutor-led demonstrations, learner-led group activities, instruction and repetition. These will form part of the delivery together with one-to-one support as required.

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
It is always good to practise your skills, your tutor may ask you to complete research or homework to support your studies.

How will I know I’m making progress?
Your tutor will set objectives for each session and give feedback on how you are progressing. You will agree personal targets as part of your Individual Learning Plan (ILP), and you will review your targets throughout the course to check your own progress.

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a pen and notepad to each session
