Entry Requirements
This course is for complete beginners.
Course Intent
This course will introduce you to the online auction site eBay and the selling platform of Etsy. You will learn how to search for and bid on items to buy and how to list items for sale yourself.
Throughout the course you will cover:
- How to register with eBay and Etsy to navigate the site.
- How the auction process works, tips on the bidding process and the different auction types.
- How to use the online help, contact the seller/buyer and use the feedback system.
- How to list an item for sale.
- Considerations on how to achieve the best price for your item.
- How to stay safe when buying and selling.
How will the course be delivered?
This is a practical course and the sessions will include tutor-led demonstrations, learner-led activities, instruction and repetition. These will form part of the delivery together with one-to-one support as required.
Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
You will be expected to practise skills and prepare and plan for future sessions. Your tutor will give you guidance on group and individual topics.
How will I know I’m making progress?
Your tutor will set objectives for each session and give feedback on how you are progressing. You will agree personal targets as part of your Individual Learning Plan (ILP), and you will review your targets throughout the course to check your own progress.
What will I need for the course?
