This qualification aims to give learners knowledge and understanding of the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding as applied to adult health and social care.

Learners will investigate the principles and how they are applied in everyday work contexts. They'll also have an opportunity to examine the dilemmas that can arise and the consequences when these principles aren't upheld.

Who is this course for?
This qualification is designed primarily for individuals working with, or intending to work with, vulnerable adults in the health and social care sectors. It aims to give learners knowledge and understanding of the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding as applied to adult health and social care.

Entry requirements
You must be over 19+ and have a minimum of Entry 3 in English. You will undertake an Initial Assessment before progressing to the main qualification.

Course aims
The aim of this course is to:- To increase confidence in relation to some key areas relating to adult safeguarding. To look specifically at some of the key risk factors that impact upon adults. To reinforce and embed the knowledge you already have in relation to safeguarding. To understand prevent and the importance of knowing how to spot signs of radicalisation.

Qualification
NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care. To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care, learners are required to successfully complete 4 mandatory units: * Unit 01 Understand safeguarding in adult health and social care; * Unit 02 Principles of dignity in adult health and social care practice; * Unit 03 Understand duty of care in adult health and social care; * Unit 04 Understand dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care. The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care is internally assessed.

How will the course be delivered?
All courses are exclusively delivered via an online learning, self-study programme.

What will I need to bring?
You will need use of a desktop or laptop computer with access to the internet.

Will I need to study or practise outide the classroom?
Your study pattern is self-managed, but a commitment of 2 - 3 hours per week is suggested to enable successful completion of the course within the timescale of 20 weeks.

How will I know I am progressing?
You will receive regular feedback from an assessor following completion and submission of individual units You will also receive weekly updates of progress as well as any outstanding items.

Progression
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to: *Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care; *Level 2 or 3 Certificate for Working in the Health Sector; *Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care; *Level 3 Certificate in Stroke Care Management.
