This qualification will enable learners to develop a basic knowledge of the adult social care sector and is aimed at those learners who wish to explore roles in this field. It will explore jobs available in the sector, person-centred care, the importance of relevant and effective communication skills when working with individuals, and the roles and responsibilities of the adult social care worker.
  

Who is this course for?
Learners who are over 19 years of age, with the aim of gaining employment in the health and care sector, or for those who are already employed in the sector and are looking to upskill.

Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, learners should have a minimum of Entry 3 in English.

How will the course be delivered?
All courses are exclusively delivered via an online learning, self-study programme.

How will I know I'm making progress?
You will receive regular feedback from an assessor following completion and submission of individual units. You will also receive weekly updates of progress as well as any outstanding items.

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
There is a considerable amount of work for you to do in your own time for this qualification. Please allow a minimum of 2 hours per week for this

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a notepad, and pen to each session. You may wish to bring a file for any handouts. A laptop with internet access is required for completion of coursework and home learning outside of the classroom. Please note that food and drink are not permitted to be consumed in the classroom. You may bring a bottle of water with a lid with you if required.
