This family learning course is for parents/grandparents/carers of primary/secondary school aged children to explore a brief introduction to Children and Young People’s Mental Health. We may discuss issues such as depression, anxiety, emotional wellbeing, behaviour and how this is often a direct response to occurrences in their lives. Also, factors which may affect mental health and the impact this has on our young people.

Learners will have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 2 online qualification in this subject. Your tutor can provide further information.

How will this course be delivered?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners in the classroom. We've made all of our venues covid secure. When you learn with us, you can be confident that we are doing everything necessary to protect our staff and learners from Covid-19. With the return to classrooms, we will provide Covid testing for both staff and learners. These tests are easy to use and provide quick results.

How will I know I'm making progress?
Your tutor will set objectives for each session and give feedback on how you are progressing. You will agree personal targets as part of your Individual Learning Plan (ILP), and you will review your targets throughout the course to check your own progress.

What will I need for the course?
Please bring a pen and notepad to each session.
