Description

It's never too late to start learning a new language. Learning can improve your chances of landing a good job or to advance in your career, it can also give you an insight into other cultures. You will be more prepared and confident to travel the world and explore other people's ways of living. This course will start you on your journey. This course is aimed at anyone who would like to learn conversational Spanish buildiing on existing skills.  

Who is this course for?
Learners who are over 19 years of age and have successfully completed a Spanish Improvers course with On Course South West.

Entry requirements
This course is suitable for learners who have completed an Improvers course at On Course South West or at a similar institution. It may also suit a learner who has returned to learning Spanish after a break, or someone who has lived abroad and is confident in common tourist situations and with using present, past and future tenses.

Course aims
During this course you will cover the following topics: - Describing regional cooking and specialities - Talking about festivals and celebrations By the end of this course, you will research and understand key specialities from different regions, including your own, and be able to comment on and discuss similarities and differences with spontaneity. You will learn about key festivals and compare these to festivals from their own culture or country.

How will the course be delivered?
You will be working with your tutor and other students on a weekly basis, face to face.

Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
It is always useful to practise your skills between sessions. Your tutor may set some home learning for you to practise.

How will I know I’m making progress?
Your tutor will set objectives for each session and give feedback on how you are progressing. You will agree personal targets as part of your Individual Learning Plan (ILP), and you will review your targets throughout the course to check your own progress.

What will I need for the course?
There are additional resources required for the course at an approximate cost of £10. Information will be provided at course induction. Please bring a pen and notepad to each session.
