Course Information Sheet

Description

Our "Introduction to Supporting Children with Challenging Behaviour" course is a concise, two-session workshop designed to equip participants with essential skills for managing and supporting children who exhibit challenging behaviours. Over two sessions, this course delves into understanding the root causes of challenging behaviour, its impact on learning and development, and effective strategies for creating positive and inclusive environments.

Session 1 focuses on defining challenging behaviour, exploring its root causes, and understanding its effects on children. Session 2 provides practical techniques for implementing positive behavioural interventions and developing behaviour management plans. Interactive discussions, group activities, and role-playing exercises facilitate practical learning, with formative assessments providing ongoing feedback and a final reflective exercise to consolidate knowledge.

This course is ideal for educators, parents, caregivers, and support staff looking to enhance their skills in behaviour management. Potential progression opportunities include further qualifications such as the Certificate in Child Behaviour Management, Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning, and higher education in education, psychology, or child development. Career enhancement pathways include roles like Teaching Assistant, Behavioural Support Worker, Special Education Needs (SEN) Support, and Childcare Worker.
