This course is aimed that those that wish to understand the world of graphic design and how it can be used. It is an introductory course so whether it is already an interest or maybe wanting a change of direction in your career, this is the course for you.

Entry requirements
It would benefical to possess basic ICT skills or already have completed Graphic Design Introduction. Learners may be required to undertake an initial assessment prior to the course.
Course aims
The learner will:
be able to apply graphic processes, materials and resources
understand how sources of ideas are used in a graphic design context
understand how personal ideas can be developed and what factors affect those ideas
understand the processes needed for production of final graphic products
How will the course be delivered?
Course shall be delivered via a face to face tutorials and self study
How will I know I'm making progress?
During the first session, your tutor will discuss your goals and current level in relation to the course. Based on this assessment, you will agree individual targets which you will record in your individual learning plan (ILP). You and your tutor will review your targets regularly to ensure that you are making progress; these will be written in your individual learning plan.
Will I need to study or practise outside the classroom?
You will be encouraged to review your notes between lessons to ensure maximum benefit from your course. It is always useful to practise your skills between sessions. Your tutor may encourage home learning, or independent research.
What will I need to take to the course?
You will find it useful to bring a pen/pencil and notebook with you to your session. Please note that food and drink are not allowed during the session, although you may bring a bottle of water with you if required. You may bring a laptop with internet access for research purposes.
